Treats are exactly what they say they are "treats". Its like ice cream, give your dog which ever treats they enjoy just dont over do it.

My guys like the BilJak liver treats. They're nice & small, but I can also break them if I need to.

My dogs love the Goodlife recipes treats, but I have had a hard time finding them now at the Grocery store and they are expensive at Petco.

Our dog Wrigley isn't a picky eater at all, he will eat just about anything, but we started making him treats a few years back because we like to know what type of ingredients are in his treats. Here's a recipe to try if you'd like
1 c. uncooked oatmeal
1/4 c. margarine
1 1/2 c. hot water
1/2 c. powdered milk
1 c. grated cheddar cheese
1/4 t. garlic
1 egg beaten
1 c. cornmeal
1 c. wheat germ
3 c. whole-wheat flour
1 t. chicken or beef bouillon
Preheat 300. Mix together hot water and oatmeal and margarine for a few min. Stir in rest of the ingredients, ending with dry ingredients last. Knead for 3-4 min. roll out and cookie cutter shapes. Bake for 2 hours or until crispy and brown.
Enjoy!

My dogs like them all! But for training I have always used small pieces....if you only have big treats cut them up into smaller pieces.

My dog loves Zukes Mini Naturals, and they are a very convenient size to use as a training treat. They are also pretty clean, I don't feel bad holding on to a handfull.
If your dog gets excited about his/her kibble, you can use that as a treat. Recently I bought a bag of EVO Red Meat (small kibble size) dog food and I use that for his hide-a-treat toys and training.
