Q: Where does he stay?

I'm going to go to England in two years but I don't know what to do with my dog. I'm sure I can't take him with me. I'll be there for one month. I don't really trust my family to take care of him and I don't have any friends that would want to take him in. Where does he stay?

Now is the time to start touring boarding kennels and comparing rates. Will you keep your home here? If so, then your dog can stay at your home because you'll have the option of having a dog walking type of service come and walk your dog a couple of times a day, feed your dog, clean up after your dog, bring in your mail and turn on and off different lights. Many of those home dog sitting services also offer overnight stays. Maybe you can have them stay over night a few times to give your dog extra attention and play times. It really boils down to what you can afford as to which option will best suit you and your dog and your budget.

I agree with Brea. One to add. If you decide on a boarding kennel ask to tour it. If they say no forget that one. When you find one have your dog stay just for the day and then a couple of days in a row and she how she does and that let's her get accustomed to being there. I believe all Britain has a 6 month quarantine on all dogs.

Don't know much about kennels I have 2 greyhounds adopted from NGAP, they are all over I'm in Phila and its a great place Hosp and everything they board and the dogs get the best of care I have first hand experience , so you should try a breed rescue they do it for extra money, but it may be less than most kennels, they take all breeds you will have to have all shots and not be vicious, here they even get roast beef with their food and have someone there 24/7, also petsmart has started a dog hotel, went thru the one near me and it looked pretty nice they have play time and it looked clean, but don't know anyone that has used them yet, pretty new, but if I have to kennel my girls they go to NGAP, one is a Black Lab, and they have paddocks for the dogs to run in
