You should ask your veterinarian to recommend a petsitter. Or call your local animal shelter to see if they have any recommendations.

go to care.com and type your zip code in and do a search for pet-sitters in your area. You can personally interview them and do a background check as well as view their profiles. Good Luck in your search! It's just a click away!

Many people ask the vet techs that work in their vets offices to do pet sitting. It wouldn't hurt to call your vet and ask if anyone there does pet sitting.

How about posting on craigslist then asking for references. Just make sure you follow through with calling. Sometimes even the better business bureau will have information on them. But thats only if there has been an official complaint.

How about posting a flyer at your vet asking for a reference for a sitter. Most pet owners will know that it can be difficult to find a sitter and willing to call or e-mail you.
