Would you have your vet come to your home when the time comes to say goodbye to your beloved pet?

At my age I have lost my share of pet friends not to mention wildlife. Home is where the heart is. If your vet will come to the house I think that's always the way to go.

I didn't have that option. My neighbors did have the vet come to their home and they said it was very relaxed and peaceful. I would do it if I had the option.

I hadn't really thought of that, but I think I would rather do it away from my home. I could never go in that room again if it was done in my home.

This is one of the most difficult things you will ever do. If your vet will come to your home and the circumstances allow for that, I would absolutely make that a priority. It won't make it painless for either of you but it will be less stressful for your animal.

When the time comes to say goodbye, I absolutely believe that whatever is going to stress the pet the least is the right decision. That's why when the time came for my 17 year old cat, I had the mobile vet I use come out and do it at home. My cat had a very peaceful end in the home he lived in for most of his life.

Definitely, I had a 21yr old cat put down in '98. The vet came to the house. It was much less upsetting for my Katsa.

I think it's a good idea. It saves your pet the stress of a trip to the vet when s/he's not feeling well and s/he gets to cross Rainbow Bridge in her loving home.

I plan to have a mobile vet come to the house.I just wrote the guys name in my address book today, what a coincidence. It will be very expensive but I can imagine the grief stricken ride to town and I would rather not.

Yes, if the vet would come. I've had to have a dog and a cat put to sleep and both vets were great. It's a very difficult decision to make.

We had the vet come to our house when we needed her too for our english setter. It was so much easier than having to deal with it at the vets office and the small amount we had to pay for the travel charge was worth everybit.
