Q: when should I start de-worming the kittens?

My friend told me to start de-worming my kittens at 2 weeks is that right? and whats the best kind

You really need to discuss this with your veterinarian, not with strangers on the internet. Your friend is wrong, but a vet can give you proper information.

As Sherri R. said, we use Strongid-T at 6 weeks with a second dose in 10 days. And the weighing is very important since kittens gain a lot of weight in 10 days. We then have a fecal sample done by the vet to be sure there are no roundworms and to be sure coccidia was not being masked by roundworms.

Check with your vet but all the ones we work with in rescue recommend giving a dose of Strongid-T at 6 weeks & then another dose 2 weeks later. My guess is they should be in the weaning process because the worms are passed through the mother's milk. But again, I would check with your vet to see what he recommends.
