Q: when should i have my kitten spayed/neutered?

Talk to your Vet., they should be close to sexual maturity, and don't let the kitty out or around any cats that are not spayed/neutered

The youngest you should consider spaying them is 6 wks. But it is not the age that matters so much as the wieght. Putting a young animal under anesthesia is risky. So vets tend to wait until the animal is over 4-5 lbs. So that is usually around 3-4 months in cats.

You can have the surgery at about 3 months. I think the recovery period is about the same. My girls seamed to okay after a couple of days.
