Q: When can you put a collar on a kitten?
Our family recently got a kitten and shes about 8 weeks old now. I know it sounds dumb, but Id really love to put a nice pink collar on her so people know shes a girl. Thanks for any help!

I agree that a breakaway collar is best or the idea about one with velcro is also good. Collars come in different sizes so you can look for the smallest size and work with it from there. Congratulations from me also on a new furbaby!

After seeing the damage caused by a collar that got imbedded under a cat's armpit, I will never put another collar on my cats.

Just make sure that it fits her, not too tight, not too loose. And as she grows make sure that you just keep up with the size of it vs. her neck! :-) I bet you'll make her gorgeous!
