In the age of computers, copies are probably accepted. But I think (in MO) certain things like a rabies vaccination certificate are essential documents b/c it proves the law was followed by having a DVM administer the vaccination. Check with a lawyer if you've got something to lose!

I would certainly check with a lawyer, but I do know that the records are "the" records and cannot be altered for any reason. Basically, this is falsifying documents, as Sara says below.

It's a good thing you have copies. If the documents were falsified I would think that's illegal. If they added something after they gave you the copies that should have documented. Good luck in court.

The laws governing any Veterinarian are set by the State in which the Vet is licensed. You can contact the state licensing board for answers.

If the paperwork was altered and submitted in court, it's illegal. Good thing you have copies of the same document to prove it.

Well I don't know for sure, but if a vet or anyone takes documents into court that have been altered to influence the outcome of a case, I would think that's illegal for sure!

I need more information?? What documents were different then yours? Was something falsified?? I would think that any falsified documents were illegal, especially if submitted in court.
