We're going through this right now. I agree, you have to be diligent with this. Taking them out after eating or drinking, out every 1/2 hour or hour. We keep puppy pads on the floor in 2 places. Mine is 11 weeks old and he has learned already that if he goes in the house, he makes it to the pad (well he's a male, so sometimes he misses :) His aim isn't all there yet :) )... but within a week or 2, we'll move the puppy pad closer to the door, and then eventually out the door, that way he'll know that the pad is outside now and that's where he goes. He still goes outside also.... It takes patience, and getting a puppy, we knew what we were getting into. We always have at least 1 person home with him all the time, too, which helps.

Take her outside on a schedule especially during the times when she would normally go use the bathroom. Then give lots of praise when she does it outside. Continue to do this with regular frequency and give her treats when she goes. Soon, she will be letting you know when she wants to go out. It really isn't all that hard!

well, my puppy has learned to ring a bell! about every 45 minutes to an hour we would take her to the bells and make her ring them, then take her outside! from that day on, she will ring the bell wenever she has to go potty! and she always does too! just an idea!
