Q: Whats the Difference?
I am going to start training my horse to barrel race. I have found a barrel racing saddle that I like. But now Im trying to find a saddle pad that goes with it. Whats the difference between a barrel racing saddle pad and just any normal saddle pad? Does the saddle pad I get need to say its a barrel racing saddle pad??
And whats the difference between a barrel racing saddle and just any other saddle??

The main difference between a standard western blanket and a barrel blanket is the cut, the barrel blankets are generally cut closer to the outline of the barrel saddle (which is generaly lighter and has less skirting that your general purpose western saddle)

I don't think it really matters.I just get plain pads for my saddles.

I don't think it matters, my mother bought a barrel saddle because it was comfy, and she just uses a tacky-too saddle pad, it massages the back while she rides, I don't think it really matters.
