What's the craziest thing you've ever done to support your local animal rescue?

The Central Missouri Humane Society held a fundraiser at a local tattoo parlor...half of the proceeds from all the tattoos given within a 10 hour time frame were donated to the shelter. The shelter made somewhere around $1400! The shelter director had to get her first tattoo that day...she promised the community that she would get a tat if the community made over $1000 for the shelter within an 8 hour time frame. You wouldn't believe the number of people that showed up to get tattoos! I got my second tat...see the picture!

That is awesome!! I haven't done anything like that but would like to get involved. You know sometimes it's hard to come up with money to give when you don't have much, it's nice to know that there is more that people can do. I have some tattoos also, but I would get totally covered to help animals.

I love this idea. What a great idea. I was contacted last week by a local tatoo artist who wants to do something for the shelter. She also is the artist that helps keep our tatoo gear in working order.

We just had a Redneck Polar Bear Day where people paid to go down the slide and hit 40 degree water. For our first year we made $700.00 and think that is pretty good considering we gave the community less than a month's notice and it was our first year.

We plan on having a Doggie Splash day in the Spring and of course our second annual Redneck Polar Bear Plunge next year.

That is a great idea! Especially for the friends of the director who wanted to see her get a tatoo. And congrats on raising so much money for a wonderful cause.

That is a great idea for a fundraiser for our shelter. I know that if our shelter were to do something like that I would go and drag some of my friends with me. I haven't done anything crazy like that to raise money but you had a great idea for one.
