My Maggie chews through things too. It took me a while to find the right brand and I found that Nylabone is the best. She has a bone and a ball and she has had them now for a year and has yet to break them.

You might look up the toy brand called Tuffies. We have one that someone gave us and it is pretty durable. It might not work perfectly with your dog, but it might be worth looking into.

Like the other person on here said, you could also try taking the toy away when your dog gets too rough. You can give him a command like 'play nice' or 'dont kill it' and only let him have the toys if he doesn't destroy them. Take them away if he does.

Good luck!

My sister's dog is like that. She has the best luck with Jolly Balls that you can get for horses. Even when he does break one, he still plays with what is left.

The black and the blue kongs are the strongest.. it is hard to find one that is indestructable that they actually like.. Kong and Nylabone products seem to work good.. there are some other toys out there too.. I saw one that had a tiger playing with it.. I said cool.. let me try that.. nope by the end of playtime Sunday it was torn.

It's tough if you have a destructive doggy! For me personally, I just buy toys that Alfie will like, but when and if he attempts to destroy it, I take it away and he has to take a break. He went through many toys until he was about 2 years old. Recently though, I did buy one of the kong wubba's, and he destroyed that when I wasn't looking. So much for a durable toy! He also has fun with his everlasting treat ball, but these are quite expensive as well. I know a couple other dogs who have one, and they haven't been able to ruin it, but my parents dog ruined hers. So maybe it just depends on the dog. I guess I would try the black kong if you haven't yet. Or you could always go the same route as my sister, who knows her doggies will rip apart toys in no time, and go to a second hand store and buy up a bunch of stuffed animals for about $1 apiece. She takes off the eyes and noses so there is nothing to swallow.
