Q: what would cause my cats nose to always be extremely wet?
One of my kitties, Missy, always has an extremely wet nose. It will leave a wet spot when she touches anything with it, and it is ice cold. Could it be that she has allergies of some sort? I grew up having pets, and have had both cats and a dog as an adult. I've never seen an animals shnoz be almost dripping wet. She's been this way since she was just a kitten. Just wondering....

I would think it's nothing to worry about as long as there's no nasal discharge or sneezing and runny eyes. Next time you have your cat to the vet. for a check-up just ask about it. If anything, a dry, warm nose would be something to worry about.

When dogs & cats get hot they sweat through sweat glands in their noses & paw pads. The nose acts almost like a mini-air conditioning unit. Sometimes you can see sweat drip from the top or sides, not the nostrils. Usually when a cat has allergies, the problem is more like a runny nose with moisture coming from inside the nostrils. Sneezing is usually present as well. Just to be on the safe side, I would ask a vet & rule out any problems.
