Q: What Works?
I have a pretty big yard but was wondering if there was anything on the market that you have tried that prevents or helps keep wildlife out of your yards? I only ask because my dog constantly kills something in the yard (I dont' think intentionally-I think, she thinks she's playing with them)

different critters would require different methods. Only thing I know how to keep out is deer. For that you need a thicket like fence. Deer are fearful of things they can't see through or over. Good luck hope you can have harmonious yard where dog and wildlife coexist.

Wild life is wild life. However, it sounds as if your pooch has a "high prey" drive. I have a Siberian, and anything small is (forgive the pun) fair game!! He will dig for moles in the yard, and they scream when he gets them. However, he has brought a fully grown Opossum into the house without a scratch on it. Thankfully it was playing possum and I was able to sweep it out the door. Don't worry about the wild life, just keep a check on your dog for scratches and bite marks which are an automatic trip to the vet for antibiotics. One of my dogs got a squirrel, but the squirrel sank its bottom teeth into her lower jaw.....not fun, but understandable.
