I was wondering, that with the economy being what it is, do any pet owners out in Z2 Land have any tips on how to save money on pet related expenses.

I look for sales. I buy the big bags of food. I will get toys from garage sales.

If you check with your local shelter, you may be able to pick up items like carriers, kennels, harnesses, leads etc.. that were donated to them, that you need.

This is a great way to help your shelter, because the items were donated they get 100% of the funds and you get items that you need for next to nothing compared to retail.

It's a win/win for all.

You can also buy most, if not all, of your pets vaccinations at stores such as Tractor Supply, Rural King, etc. You can also find them in catalogues such as Jeffers Equine, which also shows the locations which you give them in. This saves a LOT of money! In most states, the only vaccine you can't give is a canine rabies. Your vet has to give that one, but well worth the price.
