Q: What types of Treats?

What type of dog treats do dogs seem to like the most. Our puppy is sometimes very picky. If he doesn't like the flavor he becomes bored with it very fast. Which types of chew toys or treats seem to last long and pets really like them?

depending on the breed. My dog is a golden and loves to retrieve lacrosse balls. As far as chewing on something,we give him rawhides or pig ears.I wouldn't make this a habit.I was told by the vet that these don't digest well.So use sparingly.

Since you mentioned something that lasts long, it sounds like you're wanting rawhide bones, rolls or chew flips. Those are something that lasts for awhile - or try nylabone or something that the dog can work its jaw, but not consume. For regular treats, some of the given examples are perfect. Outside the box, I know dogs that love potato pieces, slices of broccoli stalk (not the tree part), baby carrots, sweet potato slices, liverwurst, peanut butter...it really depends on what your dog likes which you'll only know by trying different things.

You can never go wrong with boiled chicken. My puppy also likes Old Mother Hubbard bacon and cheese treats.

Try as natural/ healthy treats as possible to supplement their nutrition. I recommend baby carrots with a little bit of peanut butter ( the carrots on their own are great, but the peanut butter helps with picky eaters) or back a piece of free range chicken, cut into small pieces and use for training. Aim for lots of protein (most dogs don't get nearly enough) and as close to what they would naturally eat as possible ( helps a lot with picky eaters)
Hope this helps!

my baby (3lb yorkie) loves omaha steaks dog treats.. you can get them at omahasteaks.com or at your local store.. i am lucky to have a store by me..!!

she gets a lil piece or she loves their bones they have peanut butter in them!! which she adores!!

the funny thing is, is there steak treats are good for doggies and cats and mori love it! and its pretty lean since she is a bit on the hefty side (pic of her as kitten below) hehehe

tiffy also loves a gourmet popcorn from a local dog place.. its popcorn with carbo chocolate and white chocolate drizzled all over it..! its yummers (my mom even tried it lol)

All my dogs, puppies or adults, large or small, love those Milk Bones Original treats that are sold at Walmart and come in a box or a large clear jar and are shaped like little hot dogs. Make a great small treat and they get excited about getting them!

Hot dog pieces, boiled chicken, pieces of string cheese, and Gerber Graduates Finger Foods (found in the baby food aisle). Hope it helped!
