Some of the treats we've gotten our Black Lab have made him throw up so we don't want him to get sick again. Any advice?

I have found that most retail store pet treats have very bad ingredients (put it this way, your dog is eating dog meat ewwww) and if you do fine somewhere the sells the high quality treats they are very expensive so you can make your own treats, it takes a little more time but you save a lot of money and you know what your pet is eating. If you google homemade dog treats you will find all kinds of great recipes!!

I would recommend treats with as few ingredients as possible. Wellness makes good treats. "Pure Rewards" and "Wellbites" have always worked well for us. You can also try freeze dried or dry roasted meats. Usually available at some of the bigger box stores and dog specialty stores. They work pretty good as well and aren't always as expensive as you may think. We have used chicken, buffalo, kobe beef, venison, venison liver, beef liver. If you have a food dehydrater, you can also dehydrate slices of sweet potatoe (not white/russet/ etc.), carrots, bananas, apples, etc. They make awesome healthy treats for your dog. And cheap, too.

For our dogs, several different types of treats made them throwup. Mainly, beef, meat? and sausage type treats. We found 100% Natural Chicken Strips while we were at a drugstore and decided to try it out. Needless to say, we have not had anymore issues. Maybe this can help, one of our dogs was a black lab.

we give our black lab milk bone with assorted flavors now that she is older. when she was a puppy we got her all natural treats, but she will pretty much eat anything. i cant think of any treats that made her sick, but i would stick to more natural treats, like ones without all the flavoring and fillers.

I would try the chicken breast tenders as they are 100% natural, no additives, no preservatives, low in fat, highly nutritious (info from the packaging). There is a number that you can call for more info: 1-800-390-0575. good luck!

Definitely stop giving your dog the treats. I would not give your dog aspirin. Aspirin is a blood thinner, and a dog's blood is already thinner than human blood. I would give your dog Tylenol, but only one and only 200 mg. As far as what treats to use, I give my dogs Milkbone brand biscuits. I also give my dogs a variety of moist treats like snausages, beef jerky for dogs, etc. Good luck.
