What type of treat will a picky dog eat??
My Claude, a Shihtzu, is very picky. I worry about keeping his teeth clean. He doesn't like rawhides, he doesn't like snausages, he doesn't like beef jerkey, or anything in between. Forget about trying one of those bones FOR keeping a dogs teeth clean. He wants NO part of it. So are there any suggestions out there?

Try solid Gold Tiny Tots as a treat. And brush his teeth with doggie toothpaste (chicken flavor) and a doggie toothbrush.

Have you ever tried making your own dog biscuits for her? I have made peanutbutter dog biscuits and cheesey garlic dog biscuits that both of our puppies love! I've also shared them w/ friends who have dogs and their dogs have loved them, too.
I also buy Zen Puppy Treats, which are made w/ herbs. I'd trying making her biscuits first.

My two Yorkies are very picky and don't like most treats. Their favorite treats are lettuce and spagetti! But they do like Greenies which clean the teeth and nylabone also makes a small teeth cleaning bone that they like.

How about the Natural Balalnce Dog Food Roll? Cut it into small pieces and refrigerate after opening.

I feed my dogs Wholesome Hearts Low-Fat treats, Antioxidant Health Bars and Gourmet Dental Treats. They are all natural no harmful ingredients and they just love them.

I would use some "real" food (i.e., people food) as treats. Chicken works well and so do hot dogs. As for the teeth, have you tried brushing them? You can use a doggie toothbrush with liver flavored doggie toothpaste or just use cotton gauze to wipe them down. That will keep his pearly whites pretty!

I think you should get a KONG! You put some treats in it then put some peanut butter over it.Soon your Claude will try to get the treats out.

I have a Shih Tzu too. My dog will pretty much eat anything. But, she absolutely loves these treats by Pet Botanics. They are Premium Pork Liver Made with Artificial Beef Flavoring Training Treats. She goes nuts for them. You can buy them at Pet Smart. Hope this helps.
