Q: what specific type of laminate(wood) flooring should I get?

I have three small dogs under twenty pounds each and I was wanting to get my whole home laminated or have real hardwood flooring put in. Two of the pups are still not all the way potty trained and I was wanting to know the best flooring to get for dogs. Thanks

Not a big advocate of laminate.I've a great many friends who have tried it with their small breed dogs and it just didn't hold up to the occasional accident.I love ceramic tile here at this house.it's held up wonderfully with 6 dogs and multiple fosters.

I would recommend ceramic tile or even cork tile(VERY green), it's easy to clean, won't warp or split, dogs won't be tempted to chew it, it's a win-win, IMHO.
Otherwise I'd go for bamboo, it's another green product, where your laminates really aren't.

Just moved from my farm, tried laminate in my living room and was terribly un-happy. The sunlight from the large windows showed every place that connected each piece and my K-9 pals slipped and slid during their version of the K-9 500! I opted for real hard wood and found it to be very competitive in price as well cleaned up with ease. An extra box on hand is a great idea, I never needed it.

if the dogs are not potty trained dont get laminate, my husbands aunt had it in her bedroom and the washer over filled and it warped the wood it is highly absorbant because it is pressed wood in the middle.. not to mention iam in the market of buying a house and i have looked at many houses with it and i guess most of the houses had kids and they also got warped and the wood was bowing and had to be replaced.. after they are trained i would so go for it its only about $1 cheaper then real wood though.. i was going to get it in my bedrooms, but i dont think i would do it in main common areas it does have the sound of hollowness when walking across it, but if that wont bother you i say get it because if one gets scratched you can replace it easy... but always buy an extra box of it for replacement

my parents got pergo floors {did i spell that right?}. they're easy to install, look like real wood, and every scratch rubs right off.

I have laminate flooring in my house and it is so easy to clean, I love it, the only thing is it is a little slippery for the dogs if they run on it but it also keeps them cool when they lay on it! I have 4 small dogs.
