I don't really like either of them to be honest. Doxie is an abbreviation for Dachshund so especially if the dog IS a dachshund, it's like naming a Labrador, Lab or a dog, Dog. Grayer sounds like some hair dye for people who want to go grayer than they are.

I like Grayer. It sound distinguished or maybe like a cranky old man...but in a cute way. I've met quite a few Doxie's, use to dog sit for one even.
