Thisis Samson, We believe he is a Shepherd mix due to a couple of his markings. But really have no idea and are considering buying a DNA test. What are your thoughts on his breed and what you think of the DNA test? I have alot more pictures of him featured on my page if you need more examples of his markings

I know what he is, a shepard/lab mix. How do I know? I have his twin, her name is Kaya.

i know what he is...!!! i know what he is...!!! hes a purebred "hienz-57"... lol... i have had many of them in rescue... couldnt ask for a better fur-kid... but on a serious note... he's got shepard in him, thats for sure...

the only time i have ever seen a DNA test used, was when i had a purebreed st. bernard arrive @ my rescue... called A/C like i was supposed to & let them know... (poor thing had duct tape wrapped around his paws covering the ingrown stitches from having his dew claws removed)... turns out the pup was stolen from the breeder... took 4-6 months for the DNA results to come back, all the while the pup stayed @ A/C while the people fought over him... breeder won...

but you can try it... just let me ask you this... does it really matter what his breeding is...?? hes a handsome boy... :o)

There are any number of genetic tests you can have done. Breed doesn't matter, but if you're curious, the tests usually run between $50-$100 and are supposed to be fairly (~90% or so) accurate. Try it out and see what you get. I think people see different results than they expect.

Yep, looks like a shepard/lab mix. I agree, it would probably be expensive to find out, when you'd love him just the same. I bet your vet would know just by looking at him anyway.... Good luck, he's a cutie!

He definitely looks like he has Shepherd in him, possibly some Lab. He's awfully cute-no matter what his lineage! Don't know if the DNA test is worth the bother. Ask your vet. Good luck with your puppy!
