What kind of dogs are these?

We went to pick up what we were 'told' were 'full blooded beagles'. Obviously, they are not.....ha. We took them anyway and are very happy. One dog has wrinkles on her forehead, and the other does not. Just curious on what everyone thinks the other breed besides beagle these dogs are.

Sometimes knowing the actual breed helps with health care...there are facilities now that take a hair sample and produce a DNA assessment...this gives you the breeds within the genetic makeup. I have never used these services...I have had colleagues who have.

Aww, thanks Jillian.
Pups are hard to tell the breed on.
I would say the one on the right is Border Collie - maybe a mix, could be English Pointer too. The brown one - hard to tell. Let them grow up a little and ask again. Could be shepherd in that one, maybe SharPei mix, maybe even some Daschund in there. If we could see the tails, i might help.

Watch their feet. They will reach adult size before the rest of their body. This will give you an indicator how big they will get.

Good Luck!

They don't even have the colors or markings of Beagles, don't know what mix they could be but they are very cute though!

i agree they're not purebred beagles, but at this stage in their life they could be part just-about-anything. puppy features are sort of smudged together. as they get older, their features become more defined and that mixed w/their personalities will help you set them apart from other breeds.
though i'm pretty good at determining older dogs, i'm not so great w/puppies. i defer to stephanie.
