My cats like the Iams too. When I want to give them a treat I give them a few pieces of another brand of weight control kibble. If it isn't the same old thing it becomes a treat (and you save a little money). If your cat gets out of the yard it may be visiting the neighbors for a quick snack. You might want to check with them and let them know if the cat seems hungry it is because she is on a diet so they would be helping her by not feeding it

There are some "weight control" dry catfoods. Instead of chicken, they typically use lower calorie turkey. My cats like the Iams weight control.

Look for a high protein low carb diet with fat no more than 16% and fiber no more than 6% Some commercial and prescription weight loss diets are actually very high in carbs and fat! Carbs are stored in the body as fat so look for a high quality protein cat food. The more protein in the food the less carbs there can be. Also keep track of your portions.
