Depends on what is available in your area. I give Lila Nature's Variety. There's also Orijen. Some people swear by Blue, which as a cat food that stuff smelled and Lila doesn't care for the dog food. I couldn't get Ry (lila) to eat Natural Balance though that's what the cat's started on. There's also Before Grain. There are mixes that have all the vitamins and dried veggies and things in that you just mix regular people food into like whichever meat you choose. Some people do RAW diets.

How is your budget for specialty foods/shipping and handling?

Also it has been discussed that feeding your pets the more nutritionally balanced premium foods offsets the cost because they don't eat as much of it to get the nutrients and content they need compared with something cheaper like Nutrish. Also cuts down on the poop because they don't have much fillers passing through their system.

also check out the 5 and 4 star brands. hardly anyone ever eats the perfect diet, so 6 stars isn't absolutely necessary.
