Q: What is MY incentive to think of a question to ask when no points are involved.

I think before I looked at the rules I was typing all sorts of questions and wondering why I got no points. Why bother? I'll just look at others' questions. I can't answer my own

Points are secondary for most of us. Asking questions is helpful when you have a problem, if you just want to learn something or get another's solution or opinion on something. There are a lot of helpful knowledgeable people on this site who have years of rescue, vet, & other animal care experience. Learning something from them by asking questions can be helpful & fun.

I don't like to ask questions through the questions option. I prefer to do so in a journal, and this has NOTHING to do with points. It is because in my own question, I can't respond to anyone's answer. I can't edit or answer my own question to clarify when it gets misinterpreted or to update it.
If these things were changed than I would ask questions through the question option.

No but other people can answer your questions. I've found some very interesting and useful questions and answers while browsing on here, some of them in response to my own wondering questions.

Earning points isn't always the point! Sometimes you might want to find out what other people think or how they would handle a particular situation. I've had a problem with one of my cats and got some nice comments that were quite helpful.

No, you do not get points for asking questions. You get 4 points for answering 1 question per day. I have asked and answered , If you have questions. ask... other wise answer for a few points. Sometimes it's fun to see the answers people type.

i guess if all you want is points than there is no reason... but if you want to expand your knowledge or find out something you didn't know there's lots of reasons.
