I have 5 cats, but only one with food allergies and would like a general food for all--no grains.

completely grain free? Merrick B.G. (Before Grain), Innova Evo, Wellness Core, Orijen, all are great. Although not entirely grain free, I would also put Blue Buffalo Wilderness in that group, as I think it's optimal nutrition and extra supplements more than make up for the inclusion of a little bit of oats.

I've heard good things about Evo... I may be switching my cat to this soon.

We use Before Grain. It provides a diet rich in high quality meat and bio available nutrients the way nature intended. Before Grain believes a diet based primarily on fresh meat, blue fruit, nutrient dense vegetables and high-quality oils contributes to overall health and longevity and supports healthy weight naturally.
