:) you shouldn't feed a dog human food at all or it'll keep on stealing your food right off you plate and it will get spoiled :)

The best human foods for your dog are fresh veggies like carrots, green beans and broccoli. Also plain cooked rice, boiled chicken or beef. Never any onions or anything in the onion family. No chocolate and please no alcohol or beer!

I was glad to see the list below. I don't give my dog much people food, but it's nice to know which ones should be avoided.

Jillian is absolutely correct... any of a number of meats are fantastic. Even pork, so long as it's not cured pork products like ham and bacon. And the list of foods to avoid is pretty spot-on, too, but I would like to add to it...

Not only no onions and garlic, but no members of the onion family, including shallots and chives.
No raisins or grapes
No avocados
No chocolate, in any form
Nothing with caffine
No tree nuts. Peanuts are fine, but many nuts growing on trees can be toxic.
No potato skins. Potato skins are high in oxalates, neurotoxins that can also affect kidney health.
No rhubarb, again because of oxalates.
No green tomatoes, for the same reason as potato skins.
No fruit seeds or pits. Most fruits themselves are fine, but many fruit seeds contain cyanide.
Nothing with nutmeg, cinnamon, or clove.
And nothing sugary.

the best thing that you can give your dog, even over all natural dogfood, is plain, baked chicken and plain white rice :) my old lab used to get very sick and the vet would have me put her on that diet and she looked so good :)

most meats are alright. pork is apparently a no-no, but i can only assume that's b/c of the salt content.
do not give your dog grapes or raisins or onions or garlic or chocolate.
there are many things they can have that they will enjoy, but please do an online search regarding their toxicity to dogs first.
