What fruits/vegetables do you feed your hamster?

I have an adorable black bear hamster named Lilly Bear who is just over a year old. Besides gourmet hamster food she gets timothy hay and raw shelled peanuts. She also gets pieces of carrots which she enjoys. What other fruits and veggies do your hamsters like?

There is a wide variety of fruits and vegetables you can feed your hamster. However, you'll need to start slow. (Feeding your hamster too many fruits and vegetables, too soon, can give him diarrhea.) Begin by giving your hamster a small piece of fruit or vegetable 2 or 3 times per week. After about 4 weeks or so, gradually increase the amount, so that you are feeding him a small piece of fruit or vegetable 6-7 times per week. Here's a list of safe fruits and vegetables to feed your hamster
Alfalfa
Apple (seedless)
Asparagus
Avocado (skinned and seedless)
Banana
Basil
Blackberries
Blueberries
Broccoli
Brussel Sprouts - small amounts occasionally - not all hamsters like the strong taste
Cabbage - should only be fed in small amounts occasionally as too much can cause health problems
Carrots
Cauliflower leaves and stalks
Celery
Cherries - stones should be removed as they can be dangerous if gnawed
Chicory
Corn-on-the-Cob
Cranberries
Cucumber
Dates
Figs
Grapes
Green beans
Kale - should only be fed in small amounts occasionally as too much can cause health problems
Kidney Beans (cooked)
Kiwi Fruit
Lettuce - small amounts occasionally - in excess it can cause liver problems
Mango
Melon
Mint
Papaya
Parsley - a good tonic
Peach
Pear
Peas
Plums - stones should be removed as can be dangerous when gnawed
Potato (cooked)
Raspberries
Raspberry Plant leaves - beneficial for diarrhoea
Squash
Strawberries
Sugar Cane - small amounts
Sweet Potato
Sweetcorn
Sweet Peppers
Watermelon

We use to have dwarf hamsters the first time we had them they were all females there was Kiss who would give you a little kiss every time you held her. There was Feisty who really was quite feisty. There was Ding-Dong who really was a dingdong and then last but not least there was Visous who really was visous she would bite you every time you held her. We had a cat named Biff at the time who killed all four of them when we left him with them unsupervised. Then we had four more dwarf hamsters they told us at the pet store that all four of them were females but we had ened up with three females that were pregnant and one male. My hamster was one of the momma's and her name was Streamangel and she was a big sweetheart. When the babies were born I got two of the males and named them Mr. Sqeaks who sqeaked alot and Mr. Cheesey who had a hole in his ear and liked cheese. But my mom said we had to find them new homes so we did. But I know were they all went that they were safe and sound. But according to my mom when we had them they pretty much ate any fruits and veggies that we gave to them.

I would also recommend you stick with a reputable brand of hamster food such as Oxbow. Some other brands contain preservatives and ingredients that aren't healthy for them.
