Q: What do you recommend to stop my neutered male cat from marking my good furniture?
Buddy has recently started marking my best furniture when he gets annoyed with the me or our other cats. He has gotten a clean bill of health from the vet. I'd really like to stop this habit but have never used a product like Feliway. What advice can you offer?

I'm sorry--I went through this too. A good soak with one of the enzyme cleaners and then a scrub with a good brush will help get rid of the stains and odor. Although if it is on cushions or somehthing very thick, replacement may be the only option.
As far as the spraying itself, a woman I met walking her dogs told me to try this. I was skeptical and it did take a while, but it works. A synthetic pheremone diffuser in the area along with spraying the areas he has marked twice a day for a couple weeks may take care of the problem entirely. It didn't work for me, so I had to do the 'whole program'. Put a litter box in the area where he is marking and try to catch him in the act. When you do, don't punish him or yell, just pick him up and put him in the box. When he uses the box, lots of praise and treats. It takes a while, but it does work. Good luck.
