Q: What do you do with your pet bird(s) when you are on vacation?

Just wondering what other bird owners do--do you get a house-sitter, take the bird to a friend's house, have someone come to your home once or twice a day, etc.

We trade pet sitting favors with our neighbor. They check in on and feed our animals and we do the same for theirs. They have a Sun Conyer and an African Grey and we had a Cockatiel.

We used to have a parakeet and when we had to go on vacation or travel at all..we had my mom come over and take care of her. That was the best solution for us. Maybe ask a 4-Her child to help out(great learning experience for them and helps you out too)!

Some birds get uneasy in different places, therefore I would always have someone check in on my birds. My cage was also very large and hard to move. If you feel your birds would not be afraid in a strange place have a friend keep them at their home.

We always have our neighbor come over every day to take care of our bird. It works out great, because we take care of his cats when he is gone.

Dependeds on how long you are gone, if it is only a few days, you fill the dishes full and the bird will be ok
