First of all, ask the vet how to handle a choking situation. One of our dogs was choking and we just flew to the vets' office. Choking can be caused by many different things. Be prepared and know what to do in advance so you won't have to worry, ok?

we have found that putting our finger in his mouth cuases him to gag when he has chocked and he usally with throw up whatever it is he shouldn't have had. Also be sure there aren't things lying around for them to get a hold of just like you would baby proof a house we did the same for the dog.

I guess it depends on what he is choking on. Dee has the best answer. Be prepared beforehand. Max has a vet appointment Monday. (just updating the shots) I'm going to ask them how to handle a choking situation.
When I was really little (about 8) our dog Coco was choking on a bone. I carefully pulled out the bone and yelled at everyone in my family. The bone was in the garbage out side, put there after dinner. That moment has been etched in my mind as if it happened yesterday.
