lately my cat who gets fresh water 2 X's a day is pulling her water dish across the room. It is making a scraping noise and she is doing it at night sometimes too. Waking me up. She likes ice cold water out of the fridge with an ice cube or two. I think she got the idea from watching us. How can I stop this behavior ?

Maybe you can get a big heavy dog bowl for your cat.

There are, already, some pretty valid answers posted, here. But the quickest and least expensive way to go would to be to purchase a heavy dog bowl. Some are designed so that not even large dogs can move them and that will stop the "moving of the bowl" thing.

But there are a variety of water aerators/fountains on the market for cats. They supply freshly oxygenated water for a cat on demand, which many cats prefer. A properly hydrated cat is a healthy cat so whatever can be done to increase their fluid intake is a very good thing.

My cats like fresh water and ice as well. I tried a water fountain and they didn't like it. Buy a small dog bowl with a rubber bottom on it. It doesn't move and it holds more water. My cats like it better!! The dog?- he's willing to share...

Get a drinking well or get a plastic contaner. They make less noise. Also have your cat sleep in your room and shut the door.

We have a Drinkwell and a Catit water fountain for the cats. Fresh water on demand. They have all started drinking more water since we got the fountains.

if you use the heavier water bowl then it will be harder for her to move it on her own and she will give up and just drink it

Try giving your cat fresh water more frequently. Maybe even before going to bed. Our cat likes to drink out of the faucet and the dog's water bowl!

A friend of mine train his cat to drink from a faucet that he would leave on very, very low just enough to run and it always had cold water.
