Perhaps this could be your opportunity make your mark upon your local SPCA. Everything happens for a reason and the time required of you to volunteer with your local SPCA in order to become a vet tech could well make a big difference to a lot of needy animals. Hopefully if you decide to volunteer your time, with a positive outlook and little determination, you can help make a lot of positive changes to your local SPCA. It could well be the most rewarding experience you'll ever have.

THAT IS OUTRAGEOUS!!! That is NOT how an ASPCA should be ran. You need to contact the state, that is a non profit organization for animals and they have rules to follow and they are not following them at all. I would right a letter to a governor or senator of your state. It really does work, I've done it on many occausions in multiple states about things that I disagreed with and for the most part they were fixed. Also, is there another one within driving distance of you? If so try volunteering there or what about just an animal shelter or vet clinic, does it absolutely have to be an ASPCA, if so you could also try talking to your teachers and tell them your reasoning, they'd probably understand. I most certainly do.
