Does anyone know if there is an organization that oversees vets and their techs. Also if you have a problem with Shelter abuse. For example, if one has a problem with an attorney, there is an organization to file a complaint.

AVMA is a voluntary organization, so yes they oversee them, but all they can do is either endorse or not endorse them. Most states have their own boards that vets have to be a part of and those boards do have some say.

As far as filing a complaint, maybe file one with the BBB.

Most states have a department that oversees animal shelters. Depending on the state it could be the deparment of agriculture or health.
As for vets, the AVMA is where I would start and most states also have a ruling veterinary organization.

There is the American Veterinary Association & you can always contact HSUS or any other animal rights organization for help with shelyers & problem vets. Also, contacting your elected officials helps.

I believe each state would have their own departments that govern vets and animal shelters. Your states department of agriculture probably oversees the animal shelters and check out your states department of regulation and licensing to file a complaint against a veterinarian.
