Q: Travelling with your dog on a plane

We are thinking of visiting my in-laws in LA in May. But only if we can take Sydney (from DC to New Orleans). What do people do if their dogs "need to go" while travelling? We were ona flight between Congo (Brazzaville) and Paris in October and this woman had two dogs ... never saw quite what she did but it was a very long flight ......

I assume you have a small dog staying with you in the plane? If so, she is supposed to stay in her carrier & if you don't feed her or give her water for a few hours before take off you should be OK. Make sure she relieves herself before you board. Don't know how that lady even got on the plane with 2 dogs in the cabin.

Make sure dog is comfortable for soft sided carrier bfore trip and can easiily move around inside it. Don't give the dog and food or water few hours before trip. Make sure she relieves herself at home before you leave and then again at airport before you go inside. I have traveled with my dog in the cabin and he did great. The only tricky part is if your flight gets delayed, getting outside to let dog relieve itself and back through security.

As long as your dog is comfortable in a carry on crate, it should be fine
