My puppy at first was just fine with cheerios (our trainer suggested) and training treats you buy from the pet store which are usually chicken flavor. They are good. But you have to remember as soon as your dog gets tires of those they'll want something different. Smell is the key. Beef or even cut up cooked hot dogs work great!

I use soft liver treats for training. Hard treats are best for there teeth however my dogs would kill for soft yummy treats. I use them whenever I really NEED them to do something!!

Zukes Mini Naturals! They're all natural, no corn or biproduct. They're tiny and soft, so they're great for training because you can give your dog lots of them!

I cook all beef hot dogs and cut them into very tiny pieces. Also, buy a chuck steak, sprinkle with garlic powder (not garlic salt) and grill til med. rare. Cool and cut into tiny pieces. I would make mini-snack bags of each variety for class. All he dogs wanted them. The instructors often asked to use some of my treats with the other dogs.

This may sound weird but when I was potty training our dogs some one had told me to use Cheerios. My dogs are little 4 pound yorkies so I used them because they are small treats. Worked for me.

My puppy will do just about anything for boiled chicken or cubes of cheddar cheese. He also likes Natural Balance roll. I cut it up into small pieces and freeze it. I just take some out as I need it.

I used any bacon like dog strips that you could break up into little pieces so as not to over indulge the dog while you are training them.
