What training treats are best for eng bulldogs? A lot of treats give them diarrhea... Does anyone out there know of a type/brand of treat that I can use for training that WILL NOT give her diarrhea

Bulldogs tend to have more sensitive systems so you need to be concerned with what they eat. I don't know what kind or food you feed but I usually suggest all natural with no preservatives. Brands such as Wellness, California Natural, Innova, Solid Gold are all good and also make their own treats. The Whole Dog Journal rates all the best foods if you are looking for more or to see if yours is on there. Believe it or not dogs do suffer from food allergies, bulldogs are one of the breeds that seem to be more prone. You might want to try foods/treats that are gluten (wheat and corn) free, you also want to look for something low in salt and sugar, things like Beggin Strips are very high in sugar. Your best bet is to look at what kind of meat is in your dog food and stick to that, usually it is chicken and turkey. The best thing for your pet for training may actually be to just cook chicken or turkey or get deli meat, most dogs do very well with cheese also, string cheese is a favorite. All natural treats are usually more expensive but they are much better for your dog. You can also try introducing new treats along with some yogurt, it is as good for dogs digestive systems as it is for ours. Hopefully this help, any more questions feel free to ask! Good Luck :)

I have 2 French Bulldogs which can also have Digestive issues. I would use boiled chicken if possible. If you are looking for a training treat that can be put in a pocket, I would try Wellness soft treats.

We use regular chicken. (Our Vet always tells us to use boiled chicken & rice when our dogs get stomach upset) Also you could try Natural balance Dog Roll dog food or Fresh Pet Select (DeliFresh) dog food. Both these products are soft and are actual dog food. Good luck
