Q: Those of you with cats, have you taught them any tricks? If so, what?

We have had shelter cats that would "dance" and walk on hind legs for treats!

My cats know how to push the buttons on the remote to change the channel and turn the tv on and off. They also push the lever in the kitchen to turn on the water and get a drink. I have to keep it covered when I'm not home cuz they don't turn it off when done.

The cat taught me.....he drops the toy down the steps and expects me to retrieve it!!!

One of my cats also use to fetch. I would throw a small ball for her to chase. Once she got and played with it I wouldn't go grab it and throw it again. She finally realized if she brought it back to me that I would throw it again. Once she starts fetching though she doesn't want to stop (even when you are tired of throwing it). It is a really cute trick though.

We taught our cat Mika to fetch! It was the funniest thing. She would only do it with wadded up peices of tinfoil though.

I havent taught my Kitty nothing cool, but she does know her name and comes running when you call her. But I would love to know how to train my Kitty to go potty. That would save money also. lol

No I haven't done this trick. Actually my cats don't have any tricks they do. How do you train them to do this?

Wow! That is a neat trick. I haven't taught my cats any real tricks, but I have had them come to me. The bigger of the brothers, ever since I was little, if I squat down and pat my knees and thighs a couple of times he trots over for some petting. :)
