Does anyone know what the most popular breed of dog is right now in America and what is the most popular breed of cat right now in america?

Labs have been the #1 dog breed for several years. Persians are the #1 cat breed. But if you don't make it breed-specific, mixed breeds of both species probably dominate, esp. w/cats. The DSH, DMH, & DLH are all mixed breeds.

Labrador Retrievers are the most popular dog in the U.S. and have been for many-many years. They are a kid friendly dogs and are sought after by many families.
