My cat Elvira sits for her Greenies. We're working on getting her to "sit pretty". She also comes when you call her, if that counts as a "trick" - it is pretty uncatlike, though.

My son's cat can open a door by putting her paw underneath it. Do not know if that counts aas a trick or not.

Dogs are more obidient than cats are thats why its hard to teach cats tricks. SOme people say cats aren't as smart as dogs there rong.

My cat learned how to fetch. She is a dog. basically anyway. she brings me a toy mouse. Then i throw it wait 5 seconds and she brings it to me. I also taught her how to climb the shelves and watch over us.

My other cat blob learned how to roll over . you just give em a push and he rolls over!

Also flufffy one of my 4 cats learned how to run. If you say sit to here she will run like a chicken being chased.

My last cat cali likes to scratch everything in sight! She learned this on her own. When you see the little marks you will no who was there.

Like a lot of people have said, you can't really "teach" a cat tricks, they'll do what they want to.
My cat's "tricks" include knowing when she's getting a treat, when food comes out of the refrigerator for her, and recognizing certain words and tones of voice.

I was able to teach my Mom's cat Honey to fetch and return. She does this with her balls and with her toys on a stick. She first puts the stick in her mouth and carries it off and sets it down. Then she picks it up again and brings it back to me to play with her some more. She does this over and over. She fetches balls just like dogs do.

It's not that cats can't learn trick like dogs; they just don't want to. That's the mystery and charm of cats -- they are independent free spirits.

I just learned to enjoy watching them play with their toys and with each other.
