I love st. Bernards I have a huge yard and would love to have one some day but I hear that they drool alot is that true or not?

True. They slobber & drool a lot, especially after they eat or drink. When they shake their heads, they tend to throw saliva everywhere, so you are constantly wiping yourself & everything else in the house down. They also need a roomy home & a spacious fenced-in yard where they have room to lope around & get some exercise. They are also very heavy shedders & require constant grooming. They need ample exercise. They have a very strong & dominant personality & need a strong owner who will be consistent in training & in meaning what you say when you say it. They need a lot of socialization or they can become aggressive or overly suspicious or shy & withdrawn. They can get destructive when they get bored like if left alone too long with nothing to do.
