I am absolutely crazy for Blue Buffalo's Wilderness Blend. I have collies, so their coat and skin require a pretty large amount of fatty acids, and it works well. Also, there is a product called Linatone that may help, as well as oatmeal shampoo. I also agree with other members who suggest a trip to your vet. Your furkid may have allergies.

I would suggest a trip to the vet to find out if your dog has some underlying issue that is causing the dry skin. It could be allergies or something else and may not have anything to do with the food or other supplements.

i do not know how to spell it but "bewers yeast" sprinkled on your pet's food is great and get some salmon oil caplets and poke it with a pin and drizzle that on his or her food too.

Place one vitamine E capsule in your dogs food once a day until problem is gone. Or a little olive oil added to food. Cures dandruff in dogs too.

I believe the best dogfood available is "Wellness" it's made with human grade ingredients, like off the bone chicken and fish. Its not cheap but it's well worth the price.

for dry skin look for a conditioning shampoo or one with tea tree oil, it is good for the skin. you should be able to find a good shampoo in your local pet store.

Have you taken your dog to the vet to see if there is an allergy going on? It may be this will be good to find out exactly what is going on to find out what is causing the dryness.

Here are two really good sites to check out

www.dogfoodproject.com/
www.dogfoodanalysis.com/

Check out the reviews on the second site. I really like Evo and so does my vet but it depends on your dogs. I have also heard really good things about Canidae but I do believe they just changed their formula. I am sorry but SD and purina are horrible foods and I would look else where to feed your dog. I no longer feed kibble, and have gone raw but that is a personal decision. Good luck there are some good kibbles out there!

I rescued a Black Lab 2 yrs ago and she was a mess, she was put on a diet of Verus (it's holistic) fish, potato and Omega 3, I mix about a heaping tablespoon of wet with it the Bag says to give her 4 cups a day which is what she would eat of the pet store brands but the nutritionist said she only needed 1/2 because there are no fillers in it so she gets 1 cup in am and the same pm. her shampoo is earthbath oatmeal & aloe, don't know the size of your dog Annie is close to 100 lbs so you would adjust the food for your dog she's now 11 yrs old and her coat is beautiful people ask who her breeder is.
