Q: Sick young cats/kittens won't eat

June 6, 2009 | By Mmet67 | 3 answers | Expired: 1867 days ago

I have a kitten that is about 10 weeks old. Just last night, she was fine. Eating, drinking, and running around playing with the other cats/kittens. Now, today, she doesn't have the urge to eat and just wants to lay around. I am boiling some chicken and hopefully she will eat that. What else can I do? I just had a kitten that was a couple of weeks older than her die. He started off vomiting. He would drink water, but didn't want to eat. I figured that it would be ok for him not to eat since he was throwing up but still drinking. The next day, he couldn't stand and soon died. I am taking them to a no kill shelter on Monday as I can't afford a vet for them when they are sick. But I don't want anymore to die. I can't take that emotionally.

i would keep the kitten away from the other cats in case its contagious. you dont want to spread anything

hmmmm... sounds like distemper... if you take them to a shelter you may want to let them know so it dosent spread through there... its that time of year... distemper can spread like wildfire... it is very very contagious... good luck with your babies...
