Q: Should You Remove a Bird Nest ?

My neighbor has a bird house in her yard with last years birds nest still in it. She wanted to know if she should remove it for this years spring birds. I told her no to leave it be . what should she do?

She could remove it if it isn't an active nest. Wild birds that used it before will create a new nest. Then again, if it works, why not keep it for this year?
