Q: should i put a ballet on animals?

October 16, 2008 | By Chrystal1331 | 9 answers | Expired: 2153 days ago

my mom and i were discusing how we should receive taxes on our pets. that if you take your pet to the vet for shots and a regular check up at least once a year you should receive 100 dollars in tax refound. but you have to also show record that you have had the animal mkore then a year. also no pigs cows and animals that you were going to kill for profit is aloud to receive the tax tho cus you would already be receivng money for/from that animal. i told her i loved the idea cus it would also help out all the humane societies, too. so how do you feel about the idea?

That would be great. Even though health insurance and tax deductible expense are difficult for humans...so much money goes into the health care of our pets.

A couple of years ago, my cat needed to spend a week in the animal hospital. You know the $$$$'s for this. But I would do all I could for my pets...of course, if able.

The photo is of my gray Kitty that many vets said was a miracle recovery.

TY

I think this is an excellent idea.
Pets are a lot like children, we care for them, take them to the doctors for checkups and medicine.

I would sign :)

Sounds like an interesting idea. If its done though, I think it should be limited as to how many you can claim otherwise I can see it getting out of hand.

I knew a lady that tried to petition a ballot to be able to claim your pets as dependents on your tax refunds here in South Dakota about two years ago. I was all for it considering that I grew up with no less than 15 animals in the house at any given time and I know from experience how expensive an animals medical bills, toys, and other necessities can be in a years time frame. Unfortunately the bill never passed, but I think that you should go for it. It might be a tough battle to get it going, but I think that it's worth the effort. I'm sure that any zootooer would be behind you if you decided to go through with it.

Very interesting idea but not sure our wonderful politicians would allow such a concept. Worth pursuing though...my only other suggestion would be to put a limit on the number of animals you could claim on your taxes or you may see people harboring way too many pets.
Maybe you and your Mom should run for office! You may get some great support!

That is an amazing idea. I definately think if people knew about that and it happened, more people would take their pets to the vet.

I really like that idea. If that happened then people might possibly take better care of there animals. I know several people do take good care of there animals but not everyone.

That is a fantastic idea. People get refunds on themselves and dependants, why not for animals which are dependants as well. There is an article in the news area about NY (I think was the state) trying to make it so that you can put your pets under your company health insurance. Your idea is just as fantastic as that one.

This sound like a great Idea, and I sure would be happy about it since I have 4 dogs and a cat. The best thing to do would be to research it and make a plan to present. Sounds like a great project for you, ask your teachers for help, maybe you could also get credit in school for the project. Good luck.
