All good questions and I'd ask your vet. I have always had my dogs neutered/spayed by six months old.

I believe the pet has to be at least six months old, healthy, and not underweight to be spayed or neutered. There is a series of shots, so you should ask your vet.

When my dog was a puppy she had a DHLPPC which is a combination vaccine against distemper, parvo, etc, and 2 boosters before she was 6 months old and then an annual booster. She got her first rabies vaccine when she was 5 months old. Your vet will tell you specifically which vaccines your puppy needs. They will not harm the puppies. I believe they can be spayed/neutered at 5-6 months. I have been told spaying should be done before the first heat cycle. My dog was 8 months old when she was spayed.
