Q: Setting (Cropping) Photos

Setting (Cropping) Photos

When I tried to set a photo of my cat, Sam, lounging in his windowsill - a horizontal, rectangular shot, I could only get his head and shoulders cause I couldn't stretch out that crop box from a square to a rectangle. This is not the first time I have had trouble manipulating things while setting a photo. However, this is the only time it really killed the shot. Suggestions?

Are you having this problem when loading the main photo of your pet to be in the pet wars or are you having this problem with your photo editing software on your computer? I know of one of the person who is not able to move the crop box on her profile pic so it might be your browser if that's what you are talking about.

Since it is the "profile picture" of your pet, it has to be a certain size. So the crop box can not expand past that pre-determined size. I would center the picture on the face and focus on that. However, your regular sized picture will be in your photo album, so people will be able to see the full view if they look through your albums.

Perhaps the zoo keepers will fix this problem so we can rotate 90 degrees. Don't know why photos that have been corrected in Picasa can't be set to the proper view. Like this photo.

i have had that problem too. i have just given up. the only one they ask you to crop is your profile pic, so i stick to horisontal with the subject very close to center. the other photos go as is, unless they are too large. i hope this is helpful
