Q: Seperation anxiety?

So my dog refuses to eat (even though he has fresh food), or drink (even though he has cold water) until someone gets home. Is this a kind of seperation anxiety? (He eats like we've been starving him when we get home).

My cats do that, too. Zac, in particular, eats after our "reunion". I think it is kind of a "food insecurity". You are the provider, and the dog (or cat) knows that what food that is out is all that there will be until/unless you return. Once you return, it is "safe" to eat that food since more can now be expected.

Definitly destruction I agree with kelly about that I remember growing up we got a dalmation puppy her name was Holly and my dad promised if my mom got him one he would take good care of it and spend enough time with it but she became very destructive outside digging giant holes in the backyard just from being bored and seperated from her humans in the end we had to find her a new home no one had enough time for her. We also had a lab when I was a bit older named Kirby and she was such a sweet heart but we brought her in the house and no one had enough time for her either she also had to find a new home she chewed up and destroyed all of my toy horses those seemed to be her favorite thing to chew up. We also had Lady who would get loose and run away to try and find us when we left she was an english cocker spaniel and she wanted so badly to be with us she got hit by a car in a dangerous intersection next to mcdonalds and subway. Then there was Kacy who belonged to my uncle and went to my grandparents after awhile Kacy was a lab he was high energy and it took two people to walk him on his leash he tugged so hard from boredum and he would get overly excited but then again kacy had never recevied proper training as a pup either. Then my grandparents had neighbor's with a dog named Tux on one side and a dog named Lucy on the other side Tux was a black lab and Lucy who later on had a pup named Suzy was a boston terrier these dogs would leave their yards and get loose they where bored so they would get loose but they never really wandered they would go and visit my grandma and she would always make sure they got some water a treat and then make sure that they got back home okay. But during all of these dogs that where my family dogs I was too young to understand how to train a dog and how much responsibility they are so I was really upset when they had to find new homes and really upset when I found out what had happened to Lady cause that night I said I refused to go to sleep until Lady was back but she never returned.
