Does anyone else have a cat who likes to dunk her toys in water?

My cat does this everyday with her toy mice and hairties. After she is done attacking/playing with her toy mice she either "drowns" them or puts them in her food bowl. Same with hair ties. In fact, this morning I couldn't find any hair ties, so I just went back to her food and water dishes and all around were plenty! She even did it at my friend's house when she was pet-sitting for my krazy kitty!

Yes, my cat Boo-Boo loves to put his milk rings in water! It doesn't matter if its his water dish or the sink or when he gets in the bath with me. I always figured he was weird for wanting to get into the bath with me to begin with so i never wondered why he brought his toys along...

One of my cats does this regularly. When she gets tired of playing, she puts the toys she was playing with in her water bowl. Another one puts her favorite ball in her food bowl. This is believed to be your cat's way of keeping their favorite things safe. Cats in the wild, from bigs cats to ferals, take their trophies to a nesting site for safe keeping. Many indoor cats hide their "trophies" in their water or food bowls because they think of those as their territory & the safest place. Some other cats hide their toys in other locations such as under cushions, bedding, or whatever place they've made their territorial hiding/nesting spot.

Luna dunks toys and paws in one of the 4 water dishes. The big ceramic bowl is like her personal wading pool. But the other water containers she'll drink from but not play in it? Cats are strange!

I just pet sat a cat who was obsessed with standing under the sink to get a drink. Not quite the same thing but it was very strange just the same. She would meow until you turned on the water!

Not his toys, just himself! I currently have a shelter foster kitten who seems to need to 'dig' to the bottom of the water bowl to...perhaps get the good water? I'm not sure of his motive, but he definately digs in his water bowl!
At this rate...toys are just a matter of time :)
