Q: Quirky cat behavior

I sometimes find that my cat places her toys into the food bowl when it is empty. Almost as though to say that if I don't fill it soon she will! I also find sparkly balls and toy mice in the water bowls.

If it has any Bengal blood they dunk toys, paws, companions and if the water container is large enough - themselves! Non-Bengals also may like to dip toys in water - especially pony tail loops - then slap the soggy thing all around the house. (Taz is half siamese and that is her favorite pasttime) :)

Yes, yes, yes! My tripod, Trixie, loves to take her furry mice and throw them into the water bowl. Once they are good and soaked, she picks them out and plays with them on the kitchen floor, down the stairs, and on the carpeting. I thought I was the only one with a quirky kitty.

Gabby seems to be acting as she would if she had caught a mouse or bird outside--bringing it to you as a present. And my cat drops her toys in her water bowl also. Safety, I guess, and cute.

P.S. My dog was named Gabby--Gabrielle--. I still miss her

Our cat Gabby is constantly doing this. She will find a favorite toy and walk through the house and meowing just like she had caught a bird or other critter. She goes through the house until she finds you and gets her praise. Once she has been praised she will take her "gift" over to the water bowl and drop it into it.
I once read that this behavior is very typical in cats as they view their water bowl as a safe place to put all of their possessions.

Yes, all the time!! One of my cats notoriously dunks her toys in the Drinkwell fountain. Not sure why they do this, but obviously they are trying to kill it by drowning!

Dunk their toys in water, bury them, sleep on them-I don't believe there is such a thing as quirky behavior for a cat
